OUR STORY

Two Sisters,

One Dream!

Crazy Dog Lady London was born from a lifelong love for dogs and a shared dream between two sisters: Paola and Deborah.

Their story began in sunny Spain, where Paola’s first “sister” wasn’t human but a small poodle named Dama,  her first teacher in empathy and connection. Weekends spent volunteering in shelters and animal parks nurtured a deep understanding of animal welfare and a belief that the world could, and should, be better for dogs.

Years later, after moving to London, the sisters turned that belief into a purpose.
Crazy Dog Lady London started as a small dog-walking business built on love, respect, and professionalism.
Today, it has grown into a community (and a movement) that redefines what ethical dog care truly means.

Our Philosophy: Respect, Science & Heart

Our Philosophy: Respect, Science & Heart

At Crazy Dog Lady London, we believe that every walk is a conversation, a chance to connect, understand, and care. Our work is rooted in Bond-Based Canine Education, a model that replaces control with cooperation and obedience with understanding. We don’t train dogs to suppress their instincts or fit human expectations; we teach humans to see the world through their dog’s eyes.

Our guiding principle is simple:

“If it compromises the dog’s comfort, it compromises our professionalism.”

We are deeply committed to continuous education. Combining modern learning theory, behaviour science, and emotional intelligence to help both humans and dogs thrive. This approach allows us to create genuine relationships built on trust, safety, and empathy. Because only when dogs feel understood do they truly learn and flourish.

Beyond Walks: Education, Certification & Change

Beyond Walks: Education, Certification & Change

Over the years, Crazy Dog Lady London has become a centre for responsible canine education.
Through the Crazy Dog Lady Academy and the Respectful Canine Association™ (RCA), we provide professional training and certification to dog walkers and carers across the UK and Spain.

Our flagship programme, The Gentle Walker Diploma, sets a new standard for ethical dog walking,  integrating behaviour knowledge, welfare awareness, and business ethics.

We’re proud to be shaping a new generation of professionals who choose empathy over egocare over convenience, and wellbeing over profit.

Continuous Learning & Personal Motivation

Continuous Learning & Personal Motivation

Paola’s work as Director of Education is fuelled by constant study. But above all, by the dogs who have shaped her life.

She has learned from each of her own companions (Dama, Fanta, María, Bowie and Hedy ) and from every dog she has cared for through Crazy Dog Lady London.

Each one has been a teacher in empathy, patience, and communication.

Many of her most valuable lessons have come from rescue dogs, fearful or reactive dogs, and those learning to trust humans again.

Their courage, progress, and quiet resilience continue to inspire everything we do.

Recently, Paola’s own dog, Bowie, was diagnosed with Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome.

That journey has deepened her understanding of senior dogs, their changing emotional needs, and the silent challenges they face.

It has also strengthened her commitment to support other guardians going through similar experiences and to give a voice to dogs whose behaviours are often misunderstood due to pain, ageing, or discomfort.

At Crazy Dog Lady London, learning never stops. Because compassion without knowledge can’t create real change.

A Team United by Purpose

A Team United by Purpose

Behind every walk, visit, or training session stands a team of extraordinary women.

Each member of Crazy Dog Lady London shares the same philosophy: to care for dogs with empathy, patience, and professionalism. Our team comes from diverse backgrounds:  from animal behaviour and psychology to childcare, holistic health, and creative industries. But what unites us is our shared commitment to continuous growth and ethical practice.

Every team member receives ongoing mentoring, tailored education, and regular evaluations to ensure that the standards of care, communication, and safety remain consistently high across the company.
We learn together, review together, and evolve together. Always guided by one goal: the wellbeing of every dog we look after.

Crazy Dog Lady London was also the first dog walking company in London to implement a Quality & Welfare Assurance System,  a pioneering framework introduced over ten years ago to guarantee continuous improvement, unified standards, and exceptional care for every dog and client.

Today, that system remains the foundation of our excellence and one of the key reasons families trust us with their most loved companions.

Our Commitment: Welfare Before Growth

Our Commitment: Welfare Before Growth

The wellbeing of the dogs in our care will always come before growth or profit.
We don’t take on new dogs if it risks the emotional balance of the ones we already care for.
We restructure routes, adjust schedules, and re-think logistics to make sure every dog’s needs (physical, emotional, and social) are respected.

For us, ethical care isn’t a trend. It’s our identity.

Our Vision: Building a Respectful, Informed Community

Our Vision: Building a Respectful, Informed Community

We dream of a world where humans and dogs coexist in harmony, guided by mutual respect and understanding.

Through our educational programmessolidarity projects, and community initiatives (from the Kids & Dogs: Respect, Safety & Confidence workshops to the Paws & Pals social walks, and our Whatsapp Community) we share our mission beyond our regular clients and into the wider community.

We believe that education is empathy in action.

By teaching children, professionals, and families how to understand dogs, we help build safer, kinder, and more compassionate cities.

Our Story in dates

Our Story in dates

From a dream between two sisters to a thriving community of dog lovers, Crazy Dog Lady London has been built on passion, resilience and a lot of wagging tails.

Here’s how it all unfolded:

2014

A New Beginning

Deborah moves to London after finishing her Fine Arts degree. With a suitcase, a sketchbook and big dreams, she begins a new chapter in one of her favourite cities, determined to build something meaningful.

2016

The Dog That Changed Everything

After trying different jobs, Deborah discovers dog walking. One of her first clients is Jimmy Chew, a Romanian rescue who challenges and inspires from day one.

Around the same time, Paola visits London and instantly bonds with Jimmy — a dog known for being tough with strangers. That connection changes everything. From then on, every holiday is spent walking dogs together.

Without Jimmy, this story would be completely different.

2018

The Leap of Faith

Paola leaves behind her stable life in Spain — her home, her fashion business, her motorbike — and drives to London with her beagle Bowie.

Two sisters. One shared vision.

We FoundED Crazy Dog LaDy!!!!!!!!

2019

After a year of study, collaboration and hard work, Crazy Dog Lady London LTD is officially launched.

A balance of love, professionalism and joy.

2020

Raising the Standard

Paola introduces structured quality standards, safety procedures and continuous improvement systems — making CDL one of the first dog walking companies operating this way.

Later that year, CDL is featured in the Financial Times, walking dogs through Hyde Park in designer outfits. A surreal and proud moment.

2021

Growing the Team

New team members begin joining the pack — bringing energy, care and dedication. CDL continues building a reputation not just for love, but for professionalism.

That same year, CDL dogs appear in the BBC Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, helping children understand science. A magical milestone.

2022

Growth and Challenge

The business grows rapidly. Two vans. Eight team members.
A full pack of wagging tails.

Then comes one of the hardest moments: Deborah steps away for health reasons.

The team and clients rally together. CDL survives its toughest chapter.

That summer, the first European Doggy Road Trip takes place — London to Spain with the pups — rivers, beaches and villages along the way.

Paola begins a Masters in Business and Entrepreneurship to rebuild the company stronger than ever.

2023

Rebuilding With Intention

CDL expands internationally through #ToteForDogs, supporting dogs in Cape Verde.

In May, Paola makes the difficult decision to downsize the business to protect quality and wellbeing. Tears, goodbyes, and huge support from loyal clients.

Later that year:

🐾 Hedy Lamarr joins the family
🐾 A fresh new logo is created
🐾 More European road trips follow
🐾 The CDL Solidarity Project officially launches

Dogs helping dogs.

2024

A New Era

Crazy Dog Lady Elite launches — a carefully selected, professionally trained team offering personalised, flexible and high-quality services.

New services are introduced, focusing on the human–dog bond, conscious training and holistic care.

The solidarity project helps rebuild a shelter destroyed by storms in Spain.

The pack continues travelling, learning and growing.

Today

Crazy Dog Lady London continues evolving.

Stronger bonds.
Smarter systems.
Deeper knowledge.
The same love and attention to detail for every dog, every walk, every family.
